Comprehensive Program

With the comprehensive college preparation and application package, we provide hands-on guidance throughout every step of the college application process. These packages are flexible, allowing you to determine where you would like the most help. Our goal is to work with you to develop unique and compelling college applications that are perfected to best reflect your strengths and to set you apart from your peers.

For students on the program, we manage the overall process, whereas with hourly students we act as consultants. All of the application elements: a timeline, working on the college list, giving tips about bolstering the application, recommendations and essays, are activities we can work on during hourly appointments, but the aspect of overall project management is what defines the comprehensive program.

Advising services in this package include but are not limited to:

  • Academic Advising and Course Planning

  • Developing and Managing a Time Line

  • Advising on Extracurricular Activities, How to Spend Summer Breaks, and Developing Leadership Skills

  • Generating a Comprehensive List of Recommended Colleges Based on Inventory of Student’s Academic and Personal Interests

  • Providing Support with Research and Evaluating College “fit”

  • College Visit Tips

  • Standardized Test Planning and Advice

  • Coaching on Interviews and Presenting your Best Self to College Admissions staff

  • Application Materials Review, Including Essays, Portfolios, Activity Logs, Resumes, etc.

  • Scholarship Applications and Financial Aid Support

Hourly Consulting

Students who work with us on an hourly basis are, for the most part, focused and independent. They contact us when they want to come in for fine-tuning, troubleshooting of specific areas, or course selection and summer planning prior to junior year.

Don't need comprehensive advising services but looking for help with a specific application, upcoming interview, or only one aspect of the college admissions process? Pimlott College Counseling will work with students for shorter-term advising projects. Advising can be done virtually or in person.

Examples of available services include:

  • Essay Work: Personal Statements and Supplements

  • Creation of Initial College List Based on Student Surveys, In-Person Consultation, and Students' Academic Profiles

  • Review and Feedback on Existing College List

  • Mock Interviews and Coaching

  • Activities Resume
